The feud between werewolves and vampires has been ongoing for centuries. Most no longer remember or know why the feud even started in the first place. Despite this, most lycanthropes and vampires continue to despise each other, however in this new day and age, some are willing to forget and forgive. All over Colorado, small alliances between vampire and wolf alike are forming. While some see this new element of trust and alliance as a new bound sense of security, others are not.
There has always been tension between clans and packs of the same species. With these rivalries comes jealousy. One or the other either wants more land, more members, more wealth or even no competition at all. In 2009, it is so easy now to make an alliance with another pack, clan or even species to wipe out the completion. Wars between vampires no longer just contain vampires; alas wars between werewolves no longer just contain werewolves.
While the acceptance of lycanthrope and vampire alliances has it’s downside, there is of course an very welcoming upside. It is not so uncommon now to have a lycanthrope parent as well as a vampire parent. These days more hybrid children are being born. Like werewolves, they can phase at will and run with four legs instead of two. Like vampires, they can turn any eye in their direction and feed longingly from any mortal’s neck. (While lycanthropes have their own raw, untamed beauty, there is nothing like the elegant beauty of a vampire. A vampire’s looks and charm after all is what attracts their dinner.) Unlike werewolves, these hybrids are faster and more agile. Unlike Vampires, hybrids can walk with the sun beating down on them.
The potential and dangers of these hybrids and new found alliances between species elude the knowledge of mortals. Usually. There are the few mortals who know the truth of the world about them. ”It is not until one meets a supernatural creature they realise all the stories are true” As vampires and werewolves and even witches have been the subjects of folk lore, they are forced to keep their tracks well hidden. However, while the dominating atheist approach towards religion is increasing, it is easier for most to believe that there is no hell or heaven. Why hide when only a minority fears your existence?
Not only mortals, lycanthropes, vampires and magical folk walk the streets of Colorado these days. Demons too reign supreme. While mortals live their lives without realising the dangers that present themselves at their work places, schools and recreational venues, the supernatural world walks freely among us.
